The Children of the Earth Foundation, a non-profit organization established by author and outdoorsman, Tom Brown Jr., has been offering courses in survival, tracking and nature awareness to families, youth and teens since 1999. Operations have taken place from a New Jersey home base but because of the cost of travel, a new branch has been opened in California.
In Children of the Earth programs, children and teens learn ancient skills such as making stone tools, tanning hides, making baskets, pottery, bows and arrows and many other skills. Mixed within all these skills are lessons in respect for the Earth and understanding how the things of the Earth sustain our lives. For more information go to:
