The Vista Hermosa Park and Camp Grounds has been renovated and stands to rack in once again barbecues, fishing, swimming and family fun. The revitalized south Bexar County park is bringing them back for a whole new generation which has been active for three years.

Due to another wave of bear sightings over at Gallatin National Forest, officials have reinstated camping restrictions in the areas of the Clarks Fork Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest and the Gardiner Ranger District near Cooke City.

On the Shoshone National Forest, camping in campgrounds and in dispersed areas is limited to hard-sided RVs while on the Gallatin National Forest, camping in the Colter and Chief Joseph Campgrounds is restricted to hard-sided units only.

Bear sightings have forced some camp grounds to close and now it looks like they may have to watch out for something new; coyotes. A teenage girl was bitten by a coyote early Monday morning in the same national park in Cape Breton where a woman was killed by the animals last year.

The 16 year old girl was in a sleeping bag outside a nearby tent when the coyote attacked shortly after 4 a.m. The girl woke up after receiving two bite wounds in the scalp, he said, adding she thought the animal was a dog and shooed it away.

Bear sightings have forced the Gallatin and Shoshone national forest officials to reinstate camping restrictions near Cooke City. The restrictions come less than two weeks after a camper was killed and two others were mauled by a sow grizzly at Soda Butte Campground, just east of Cooke City. The campground is still closed.

50 disabled kids will be attending camp at the Sly Park Conservation and Education Center on August 8, 2010 and volunteers are needed. This event is held annually by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. There are no fees for the kids joining the camp.

The Sly Park center is in the Eldorado National Forest, about 50 miles east of Sacramento. The education center is operated by the Sacramento County Office of Education.
