Urban Camping

Urban Camping

Urban areas might seem like a strange place for camping or trekking, but Belgian architects have come up with a mobile multi-story structure that provieds the modern nomads with a trouble-free camping area within an urban environment. Referred to as “Urban Camping” (UC), the result is a steel structure that supports four platforms where urban wanderers can pitch their tents and enjoy the view of the city life.

Introduced last month in Antwerp for the Kaailand Festival exhibition on mobile architecture, the UC can be set up in any place or city center, offering a personal space for those not-so-adventurous city dwellers where they can camp out for an overnight stay, enjoy basic facilities in the safe refuge and meet friends or fellow urban campers.
