The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is celebrating National Park and Recreation Month this July and they want everyone in the U.S. to participate. Beginning in 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month.

Each year, parks and recreation facilities across the country kick-off summer programs, promote outdoor activities, and draw in community volunteers to make outdoor spaces a better place. Due to the recession this year, many of these national parks are offering free admission throughout the summer. So get outside and enjoy the sunshine (don’t forget your sunblock!).
